Julie Melrose
Julie joined the Freedom Street Partners team in 2021 as a Transition Consultant. Her role on our team is crucial to seamless and efficient transitions when advisors change firms and join our team. Her duties include assisting and guiding our new advisors when they commit to joining our firm through the first 60 days utilizing education, operations support, and problem resolution, all while providing exceptional customer service.
The transition to a new firm can be highly complex and potentially stressful. Because of Julie's excellent organizational skills, her task-oriented approach that ensures deadlines are met, and her ability to clearly communicate efficiently, she allows the process to move forward in a way that new advisors not only receive the information they need, but she ensures they are welcomed to the team. As a result, meaningful relationships are built and maintained from the start so that our advisors are set up for success.
Julie has a passion for meeting new people, and she understands and values that each relationship is unique and must be treated with care. She likes that each transition is different because of the challenges presented and the learning opportunities around each corner.
Before joining our team, Julie has held various roles with Raymond James, providing her with extensive experience in the industry. Most recently, she was a Transition Management/Transition Consultant. She has also held Mutual Fund Trading/Team Lead and Office Manager positions. She began her career in the Customer Service Industry and lead the Berkley MI Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Director. Julie holds her Series 7 and 63 licenses and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Michigan State University in Communication Arts and Science.
My family and community are so important to me and integral parts of my life. My husband, Rob, and I have two fantastic children, Ian, and Ainsley, who are now grown. Ian lives in Austin, TX, and we enjoy visiting him and seeing a new city. Ainsley attends the University of Alabama, so we have become UA fans by default. Roll Tide! I am born and raised in Michigan, and Rob and I are both Michigan State Spartans. We raised our kids with our Spartan Family, and we still love to get together for sporting and social events! Ian also graduated from MSU in May 2020.
Rob and I are fortunate to have kept the many friendships that we developed over the years when our schedules revolved around our kids' social lives. I have been in the same book club for more than 25 years with the same group of women and love the community and friendships we have maintained. We also have a very close-knit street. Our neighbors frequently gather for Euchre nights, block parties, and all sorts of get-togethers. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by such a great community!
Over the years, I have volunteered many hours, primarily with the PTSA, my church, First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, the Berkley Education Foundation, and my kid's schools and sports teams. In addition, I love to keep active now by doing Pilates and yoga, and we recently purchased bikes to enjoy the outdoors while getting some exercise.
