1 The Forbes ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors, developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years’ experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Out of approximately 32,725 nominations received, based on thresholds, more than 5,000 advisors received the award. Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. Neither Forbes nor SHOOK receives a fee in exchange for rankings. This ranking is not indicative of advisor’s future performance, is not an endorsement, and may not be representative of individual clients’ experience. My family is, without a doubt, my utmost priority. I am incredibly fortunate for my wife, Adrienne, who is the most supportive and kind individual I know. Adrienne is an accomplished elementary school teacher and brings joy to everyone she meets. Together, we have the honor of raising our two boys, Carson and Brayden. They always keep us on the go, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. As a lifelong soccer fan, one of my favorite family pastimes are the countless hours Adrienne and I spend on the soccer field cheering on the boys while I help coach their teams.
We believe one of the greatest gifts we can give our sons are experiences traveling to learn and immerse ourselves in other cultures. We take every chance we can get to travel, especially if it involves spending time near the ocean. Like most families, we live in constant motion but the time spent with my family and close friends is my most cherished time.
I am also passionate about volunteering my time to give back to my community. After establishing the Chesapeake Wine Festival, it quickly became a signature event in the region. I beam with pride when I realize the impact that it has had on many charities in our area. I aim to make our community a better place and I believe I’m able to play a small part in that through my participation with the Rotary Club and as a Boys and Girls Club board member.
I also enjoy working with aspiring business leaders. The relationships established throughout my career have been crucial, and it’s fulfilling when I can consult and coach others, whether it is an individual navigating their way as a professional or helping lead entire organizations through change. My training as a certified John Maxwell speaker has motivated me to work with others in hopes that I can inspire and equip them with the skills necessary to reach their goals.
My biggest personal goal is that my children understand that hard work, giving back, and meaningful relationships are the keys to the highest satisfaction in life. These values were instilled in me at a young age with the support of my parents, and I strive never to lose sight of this message.
