Ginny Koontz-DeLauder, CFP®
Financial Advisor

Ginny joined our team in 2020 as a Client Relationship Manager. Her role is critical because she is a trusted resource for clients to continually foster and develop meaningful, lasting relationships. She also works closely with clients to create and present their comprehensive wealth plans before meeting with their financial advisor.

Clients know Ginny for her attentiveness, professionalism, and broad industry experience. She ensures that everyone is heard and creates an environment that is safe to ask any questions, address issues and needs. Ginny thrives off helping others and can easily explain and break down the industry's technical components so that clients can comprehend their options and strategies and the latest happenings in financial news.

Before joining our team, Ginny gained relevant experience with The Henderson Group as an Associate Financial Planner. Most recently, she was with Piedmont Wealth Management as a Financial Planner/Partner for seven years.

Ginny’s introduction to the industry was not traditional nor an easy path. She studied engineering at Virginia Tech for three years, but after losing friends and a professor in the devastating tragedy at the university in April 2017, she took a year off and worked for a developer as an executive assistant. She became focused on her newfound personal mission; to impact the world one person at a time. When she returned to the university, she met the dean of financial planning, and a new world was opened up to her and she learned more about the opportunities in the industry.

Ginny was re-energized by how she would apply all of the areas that she found exciting in engineering, such as technical analysis, and add in the personal impact component each day with clients and her community. Ginny graduated from Virginia Tech in 2010 with a Bachelor in Science in Agriculture and Applied Economics. She has since also earned the professional designation of Certified Financial Planner™.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™, CFP® (with plaque design) and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.

My life outside of the office mimics my time inside the office, always on the go. I’m incredibly lucky to be married to my husband, Mike, and we welcomed a son in 2021, Michael Lane. We spend a lot of our family time working on projects around our farm and enjoying Mike’s cabin in the mountains of West Virginia.

I was born and raised in Virginia and love to explore the outdoors of this beautiful state. I enjoy hiking, hunting, fishing, and competitive shooting. In fact, when I attended Virginia Tech, I competed at the collegiate nationals in 2009 for the Clay Target team. I also like exploring my creative side with family and wildlife photography.

It has always been vital for me to give back and stay connected to my community. I have served on the Board of Directors and in leadership positions for Culpeper Chamber of Commerce, Culpeper Business Women, Services to Abused Families, and Grants Committee for the Powell Wellness Foundation. Today, I continue to engage as an active member of Reformation Lutheran Church, the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce, Culpeper Business Women and Business Networking International® - Culpeper Chapter.

I’ve been very fortunate to pursue a fulfilling career, hobbies that keep me active and challenge me in the best way possible, and to have a family who is my ultimate support system.
