Dawn Mayfield

I am a native of Chesapeake, Virginia and grew up in a quaint little community called Great Bridge. My family has been in this area for generations. I walked the halls of the same high school where my father and his siblings walked, and live in Great Bridge today. My family history has been full of loud gatherings, laughter and a strong faith that always brings us together.

I’ve been blessed with two sons, two amazing daughter-in-law’s, and three grandsons ages 13, 10 and 3. My husband Tim and I spend many hours hanging out with our kids. We love supporting our grandsons by attending baseball games, wrestling tournaments, band concerts and just plain old fun sleepovers at “Nana and Poppy’s house” as the boys call us.

My oldest son is a Portsmouth Fire Fighter and my youngest is finishing up his P.H.D. in Theology at Boston University. The only kids we have at home now are our two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Bear and Harley. They enjoy long walks, swimming at the beach, fetch, frequent treats, and belly rubs.

As I’ve gotten older, my passion for seeing the world has definitely increased. Two of my most memorable vacations were visiting Cat Island in the Bahamas and London. My bucket list would definitely have to be Australia and Scotland. One thing I can’t live without? Coffee!
