Josh Deaver
Vice President, Financial Advisor

Josh joined the Freedom Street Advisors team in 2021 at our Staunton office as a Financial Advisor. From an early age, Josh’s parents taught him that there is no substitute for hard work, dedication, and doing what is right. He continues to apply this philosophy each day to his work and believes this is why he has been and continues to be an advisor and resource to his clients.

Throughout his career, Josh has built long-lasting and impactful relationships with his clients. This has resulted in established trust that gives him the opportunity to provide insight and guidance about complex matters so his clients can make some of the most challenging decisions about their lives.

The guidance that Josh provides his clients, which he deems to be most sacred, centers around retirement and legacy planning. He treats this with the ultimate care because he understands that there is only one chance for these vital financial decisions. Josh works tirelessly with and for his clients to ensure that their best interest is always at the forefront of each decision and they are adequately prepared.

Before joining our team, Josh gained extensive experience with Edward Jones for ten years and was a key leader for their client solutions and recruiting regions. He developed a keen understanding of the industry and applies this critical knowledge to our team and clients. Josh earned his bachelor's degree from Radford University, where he was also the starting pitcher for Radford’s Division I baseball program.

I was born and raised in Waynesboro, VA, and consider myself incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity for my wife, Lindsay, and me to raise our children, Nolan and Mallie, in the same great community.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending my time outdoors and appreciating all that it has to offer. From hunting and fishing to hiking, our family loves the adventure we experience outside. I am also blessed to combine my love of baseball with the chance to coach my son’s travel baseball team, which has truly been a gift to be involved with his team and serve in this capacity.

It’s also important for me to be active in our community and give back where I can, and I enjoy doing so through my 10+ year membership in the Waynesboro Kiwanis Club. Additionally, I am an Advisory Board Member of the Waynesboro Salvation Army.
